The National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS), established by an Act 27 of 2005 is among the youngest, yet the most crescive law schools in the country. A flourishing University, it has in a remarkably short span of time become a name to reckon with quality education and éclat. Formally instituted and dedicated to the nation in 2006 by the then Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Hon’ble Mr. Justice K G Balakrishnan, it has taken great strides and carved a niche for itself in the legal world. Another milestone in the history of NUALS was marked when it joined the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) in 2009. Every year, the University now welcomes a bunch of young and talented bright minds all over India to get them moulded into able legal professionals. Currently, the University functions under the efficient leadership of the Chief Justice of Kerala as the Chancellor and Prof. (Dr.) N. Balu as the Vice-Chancellor. Borrowing the words of an eminent jurist who visited our campus, NUALS is “having its head in the cloud and its feet firmly on the ground”, and this perfectly encapsulates our ability to be both inspirational and down-to earth, to blend ground-breaking intellectual achievement with practical applications. The admirable achievements of the University are a testimony to the abundant talent that the University houses and nurtures.
